Poorna Jagannathan

26 Apr

She is stunning and a million miles away from the typical Bollywood typecast of coy, voluptuous femme fatales. As the fresh-faced bronze nonconformist, Menaka, in ‘Delhi Belly’, Poorna got more than just a passing glance for her wonderful performance in the movie.

Her shift from California’s showbiz to Bollywood’s flamboyance is not exactly what aspiring actresses would do. However, Poorna is anything but aspiring; this sultry actress amazed us all with her mature acting in the comic film. And interestingly this sensibly graceful actress’ most unique skills happens to be her sophisticated tone of characterization which is why she is hot property in California with a long list of Hollywood engagements under her belt.

Truly, this instinctively vivacious actress can be called one of Bollywood’s most talented discoveries.

Who got the ‘old man’ act right?

In 2009, Aamir Khan featured in a comical advertisement in which he enacted the role of an angry old man. Not only was he downright true to character but he played the part so well; very few could discern it was actually Aamir Khan. Thoroughly enjoyed by all it was the talk of the town then.

Come 2012, we have a new buzz that’s caught the eye of TV viewers. A young new heart throb has been featured as an old man in an ad campaign and few have been able to recognize him. It is none other than the dashing young Ranbir Kapoor dressed as a graying old man with thinning hair, wrinkled expressions and vintage spectacles that has been making the rounds.
